Yiying Lu

Yiying Lu
Yiying Lu is one of the most promising designers of Sydney, Australia. She was born in Shanghai, China, and is a confident artist with many attractive designs and illustrations in her portfolio. She runs her own design studio & teaches design at the University of Technology, Sydney. Her dream job is to furnish visual refreshment to the current Google logo.
Here is a piece of work created by Yiying Lu. I feel this illustration has been created by the pen tool because of its awkward lines and designs. Also the shape tool looks like it has been used to create the little circles that flow accross the page. This piece has very intricut designs and patterns that flow amoungst the page to create a detailed effect. I feel this gives it an attractive look and also different because of the designs used to make up this piece. The colours black and red both create a 80's feel as the red really glows while the solid black helps the glow to stay under control.
Using intricut patterns for my poster design would make it look more interesting to looks at, while still linking with what the poster is advertising which is a catwalk as a catwalk really is unique and full of differet patterns and designs.

Here is a second piece of work created by Yiying Lu. This piece looks like its been created by shapes that have been curved, cut and shaped to make this beautiful piece of work. The sky blue background colour really gives a calm relaxing effect that stands out and makes this piece put you in a greater mood. The solid orange and white colours used really are bright which makes this piece look refreshing and positive. This helps bring it together and make it an outstanding, simple but modern illustration. The sharp edges on all parts of the image gives it a deluxe finish which really makes it look clean and attractive.
The sharp finish on all parts of the image really give it a crisp finish which i feel is a key aspect in what i will include in my poster design.
